The extremely high safety record of dental office general anesthesia has been developed and refined by oral and maxillofacial surgeons for generations.
In order to provide in-office general anesthesia under a dental license in the State of California, the practitioner must have a general anesthesia permit. The permit is issued only after showing evidence of advanced training and the passing of an in-depth office review. The Pacific Coast Center for Oral, Facial & Cosmetic Surgery and Southern California Center for Surgical Arts are permitted by the Dental Board of California to provide outpatient general anesthesia.
The Pasadena Ambulatory Surgery Center is one of the unique services offered at The Pacific Coast Center for Oral, Facial & Cosmetic Surgery and Southern California Center for Surgical Arts. Our modern, hospital-level outpatient surgical suite within our office is a fully equipped hospital-level ambulatory surgical suite that allows Drs. Elias and Stephens to provide hospital-level surgical care for our patients in a convenient, controlled, and private setting. During your procedure, vital signs are carefully monitored with automated blood pressure units, ECGs, pulse oximetry, and end title CO2 monitoring.
Our surgical suite provides a unique environment, allowing safe anesthetic management options for high anxiety patients, developmentally impaired patients, and children in need of our surgical services. Our entire outpatient surgical facility and fully equipped operating suite, along with our staff anesthesia providers, allow us to offer care to our patients without the inconvenience of having to go to the hospital.
The Pasadena Ambulatory Surgery Center is well-versed in all forms of anesthesia, pain, and anxiety control and can provide a comfortable experience for even the most nervous patient.
Many of our procedures are done with local anesthesia or local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Drs. Elias and Stephens will guide each patient toward the best anesthetic option for them based upon their medical status, anticipated surgical procedure, and their desires for treatment.
Anesthetic management options also exist within our practice for high anxiety patients and children. The Pasadena Ambulatory Surgery Center allows our surgeons to offer care to patients with special management problems without having to go to the hospital. This includes patients with developmental disabilities and children. We have anesthesia providers on staff that are well-versed in all forms of ambulatory anesthesia.
Please feel free to contact our staff if you have any questions about our anesthesia services or our surgical facilities.
